1. What is the Program?
A marathon and half-marathon training program. It utilizes intervals of running and walking that minimize injuries. Designed and administered by Jeff Galloway, Olympian and long-time marathoner.
2. How does it work?
You join a group of local runners (over 70 members in 2008) who train together on Saturday mornings beginning in May and continuing until you run your marathon or marathons in the fall and/or winter. Most of the this year's group will be running the Space Coast Marathon or Half Marathon on November 29, 2009.
3. How can I benefit?
You will be able to run a marathon or half-marathon within 6 months (over 95% of the members do). You will be able to run with a group each week at your ability level on interesting, accurate, and varied routes with a definite training schedule enjoying good conversation (and maybe a word game or two) with water stations every two miles. You will receive group support as you run your marathon. You will receive training schedules, Galloway's book, Coolmax shirt, training advice, and endless encouragement.
